You know how things tend to get easier the more you do them? Well saying goodbye to Clay isn't one of them. If anything, it gets harder and harder. Overall, I had a wonderful trip and was very grateful for the time I did get to spend with him.

So as I'm walking out of baggage claim in Memphis to meet Nikki, the heat slapped me in the face like an evil stepmother. The air was so hot and thick, it was ridiculous. I was used to 85-90 degree weather with a nice ocean breeze and wasn't prepared for the nice 'welcome home' I received from mother nature. It didn't help that I had only had a couple hours of sleep either. My flight was overnight and anybody over 5 feet tall knows that airplanes are super cramped and damn near impossible to get comfortable to sleep. I was so tired and worn out that I was running into things like I was drunk or something!!

I didn't waste anytime getting started with volleyball. We started practice the day after I got back (2 weeks before our first game). I'm so ready for the season to get started!!! I've got a pretty young that I have high expectations for. Teachers go back to work Aug 1 and the kids start school on the 7th. It gets earlier every year, but I'm looking forward to it hoping it will make time go by fast until Clay gets here on Aug 26.

Best Summer Ever!!!!

Aight, I'm new at this whole blogging thing so don't be too critical on me. Before I get started I'd like to thank Amy for giving me something else to add to my list of computer addictions i.e. myspace, facebook, AOL. As if I don't spend enough time on the computer as it is!!

So what girl wouldn't want to spend the summer in Hawaii with her amazing boyfriend?! Yeah well, I have had the opportunity to do just that. Being that I am a teacher, it is a huge benefit to have the summers off. I could have stayed at home and taught summer school for some much needed extra cash, but with Clay being stationed in Hawaii with the Army, it was a no-brainer as to what I was going to do this summer. This is the 3rd time I've been out here this year and I love it! It's absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking at moments. I could never live here though (as crazy as that may sound). Ideally, Clay and I would be back at home in good ole Mississippi with our families and friends, but the army is keeping us from that. Anywho, we've had a really good time and have gotten to do many different things. My new favorite hobby is snorkeling. There is a place here on the North Shore called Shark's Cove. Now, there aren't any sharks here, but there are TONS of beautiful fish and the water is super clear. I love it and would go there everyday if I knew I wouldn't be black as night from the damn sun. We also hiked Diamond Head. Which, at the top, was one of the most beautiful views I have ever personally witnessed. At 761 feet, Clay wasn't a big fan when we got to the top.

Lets see....other things we have done during my stay here.....We went to my favorite bar here called the Barefoot Bar in Hale Koa. It's right on the beach in Waikiki and they have some killer Lava Flows (my personal favorite). They also have pigeons that will come up to you like a homeless man asking for money! They're pretty gross though.

Now, I'd have to say that my favorite food in Hawaii is the freakin Pineapple!! I get excited just thinking about it! It's so freaking delicious that it would make you wanna slap yo mama!! I think it's something everyone must try before they die. Me, Amy (Clay's downstairs neighbor) and her little boy Peyton went to the Dole Plantation one day and saw where the pineapples grow. It was pretty cool.

Yeah, that's a pineapple....strange huh?

Well, it seems I've rambled on long enough so until next time......Aloha!!!
